Remote Learning

At Woodvale Primary Academy we recognise that there may be times when children need to access their learning from home.

When Remote Learning Will Be Used:-

Remote Learning will only be provided when:-

  • The school (or a class or year group) is closed or attendance is disrupted.
  • An individual pupil is unable to attend school but is well enough to continue learning at home.

In all other circumstances, in-school attendance remains the expectation.

How Learning Will Be Delivered:-

  • Pupils will access remote learning through Oak National Academy.
  • Parents/carers of children who require remote learning will be emailed links to specific lesson content.
  • Where digital access is a challenge, printed materials will be provided.

Roles and Expectations:-

  • Teachers will identify appropriate lessons drawn from Oak National Academy - these will align as closely as possible with the in-school curriculum for the particular year group.
  • Pupils are expected to engage fully and complete work.
  • Parents and carers should support their child's participation, help establish a suitable learning space at home and contact school if technical or access issues arise.

Safeguarding and Online Safety

  • All remote learning will take place using secure, school approved platforms.
  • Any concerns will be reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead following normal procedures.

Monitoring and Feedback

Teachers will monitor engagement, provide feedback and contact families where additional support may be needed.
